Broomfield Heights Project Wins Statewide APWA Sustainability Award

The City and County of Broomfield (CCOB) has been awarded the American Public Works Association (APWA) Colorado Chapter Award in the Medium Community - Sustainability category for the Broomfield Heights Stormwater and Pedestrian Improvements project.

The complex project successfully overhauled local infrastructure by upgrading water, sewer, reuse water and stormwater systems while improving key pedestrian safety features. Executing the project required extensive coordination among project teams, Xcel Energy, local businesses and the nearby elementary school to manage traffic, preserve residential access and minimize disruption to the daily lives of community members impacted by the project.
